The Hopkins District Library Board oversees the Hopkins District Library and ensures its continued service to the communities of Hopkins, Village and Township, Monterey Township, and all areas of the Hopkins Public School District not included in the three municipalities.
Originally known as the Hopkins Public Library, its services were permanently expanded to include Monterey Township and parts of Watson Township in the Hopkins Public School district in 2012 when the Library became an official “district library.” The Hopkins District Library is part of the Lakeland Library Cooperative, and it utilizes the cooperative’s complete services, including access to its millions of circulated items, online catalog access, email alerts, FirstSearch databases, and more.
The Hopkins District Library Board comprises two (2) representatives from each of the three (3) governments and two (2) representatives from the Hopkins Public School district. It meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Hopkins District Library (118 E. Main Street, Hopkins, MI 49328). All meetings are open to the public.
