A planning commission is a group of citizens who advise a local government on planning, land use, and community development. They are responsible for developing and implementing plans that guide a community’s growth and development over time.
While the Village of Hopkins Planning Commission is technically a separate governmental entity, it comprises the Village of Hopkins Council. When the Village Planning Commission meets, it focuses on planning commission business only, the decisions of which may or may not also need Village Council approval.
Hopkins Village Planning Commission meetings happen as special meetings, posted on the Village of Hopkins Website, Facebook page, and in five public areas around the Village of Hopkins as required by law. There are currently no regular meetings of the Village Planning Commission.
